Fuji

Photography
has a few classic cameras. Cameras that have stood the test of time and
the ones that are continually sought out, even in this world of digital
cameras and iPhones. Names like Leica, Rolleiflex, and the venerable Nikon
F quickly come to mind. Those cameras, in their day, were the essence of
what film (remember film?) cameras were all about. Certainly there were
other cameras that could be considered “classic” but we’re here to sell
them and not write a book.
In
the panoramic camera field there are also some classics. The Widelux, Hasselblad
Superwide, and even the more recent Xpan fall into that category. And no
discussion of wide field cameras would be complete without mentioning Fuji
and Linhof. Those last two are the heavyweight champs and the debate rages
on, not unlike the Nikon vs Canon arguments.
We
are proud to announce the acquisition of probably one of the finest examples
of the Fuji G617 in existence. This low mileage beauty, (034 on the counter)
looks practically new. It was acquired from its original owner and includes
the case, outer box, strap,
shade,
center filter and instruction manual. We even have the original plastic
wrapping that surrounded the case. If ever the loosely used term “MINT”
were to be applied to a camera, this is it! The G617 takes 120/220 film
and has the fixed105/8 Fujinon lens but if you’ve been hoping to find one,
you know all about that.
With
some luck (maybe a lot of luck) you can find one on eBay that is described
euphemistically by the seller as a “user.” Having ventured in that arena
a few times, we sort of know what to expect there. You can rest assured
that our Fuji is several worlds apart from that. When the men in brown deliver
this camera to its new owner we wish we had our camera trained on the buyer
as he unwraps his classic.
Fuji
G617 includes the case, strap, shade, center filter, original instructions,
enclosed
in the original box, AS NEW………………..$2750

Model
65/70-220 EL
OVERVIEW

The
powerful medium format Panoramic Camera for 70mm and 220
roll film, perfect for the professional photographer.
The
unique distance setting feature on this rotation camera
covers a range from 3 meters to infinity. This permits exceptionally
sharp panorama exposures even at short distances, a unique
feature, particularly for interior architecture photography.
A
special shift mechanism permits the horizon to be set in
the lower half of the image without changing the horizontal
position of the camera. Visual control of the shift is possible
using the additional rotary direct vision view finder.
These
features in conjunction with the excellent Rodenstock 4.5/65
mm Grandagon lens make the 65/70-220 model the ideal rotation
camera for the exacting photographer, who wants to create
exceptional photographs.
